Salwan is located in Aseer Region of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is envisioned as a year round destination offering mainly a summer and winter gateways that would prompt repeated visits in Aseer Region of KSA, and offering a broad range of outdoor and indoor activities anchored by core attractions focused on adventure, entertainment, sports, wellness, nature, and culture catering for all target segments. The 50.5 km2 mixed-use destination, when fully envisioned, will showcase the authentic character of vibrant Aseer including its rich art, culture, architecture and key heritage sites, while incorporating innovative design solutions and a mixture of traditional and contemporary design. Salwan aims to be a place to explore and be thrilled by nature, a retreat for the world's leading sport enthusiasts, a place to be thrilled and entertained, a place to disconnect and re-engage with the senses, and a place to connect with Saudi culture and traditions.

Berkeley’s new building for CDSS, the Division of Computing, Data Science and Society, is conceived as a connector that will create bridges between campus and community. The proposed building will be a new center welcoming those with diverse views and passions to come together and address the challenges of our time though data driven research.

The 380,000 GSF project will include research laboratories, offices, meeting rooms, classrooms, a public café, a gallery, and an event space. Most importantly, convening / collaboration spaces provided throughout will promote the exchange of new ideas and foster cross-disciplinary research.

The Gateway has the capacity to become a new destination on the Berkeley campus. The prime location allows the project to reinforce the north edge of Campus Park and to frame a new campus entrance.

All great tourist destinations are driven simultaneously by the two critical parameters of the physical and spatial identity of the place and the use activity. Therefore, to create a sustainable, multi-generational destination for both local and global tourists.

Creating a masterplan driven by two complementary strategies for the City Centre and the Resort and Entertainment Centre. Rather than a singular language that would limit the visitor demographics, a language with a broader spectrum of entertainment and recreation suitable for all visitor profiles was put in place to create a destination that celebrates its context and programmatic qualities.
